HOW WE MET

Our story started out like any other movie-cliche. I was the girl in the bar, exhausted after a long shift, and he was the rowdy-jock taking shots with his friends. I was minding my own business when he came over and told me that I had a problem. I looked at him, he was pretty cute, so I decided I wasn't going to brush him off. I asked what my problem was and he replied "being the prettiest girl in the bar" I told him I was the only girl in the bar, so thank you for those odds. The conversation continued until we both left and went our separate ways but not before exchanging numbers.

THE PROPOSAL

I was in Florida visiting some friends of mine when I got a phone call from the hospital saying that Adam had an accident and was there. I got on the next flight back to Vermont and drove straight to the hospital. Adam was on the roof apparently and had fallen off the ladder and broke his collar bone. After I knew he wasn't there for some life threatening injury, I joking threatened that I wouldn't come next time he hurts himself. He then smiled and said "well then I guess I better ask you to marry me now huh?" he then pulled out a ring, grinning ear to ear. Naturally, I said yes.

Maid of Honor

Taylor and I met in 2013, and what started as a friendship through trauma bonding over work turned into a lifelong friendship. She is hands down the funniest.... AND strangest person I have ever met, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Beneath her endless humor and quirkiness is the biggest heart, and her loyalty for the people she loves is unmatched. Through every high and low she's been one of my fiercest supporters and I am so lucky to have her standing beside me as my maid of honor.

Jeanine and I first met at work, but became one of my closest friends when we became roommates. Together we spent some of the best years of our lives eating, drinking and dancing our way through Chicago-- collecting stories we'll never forget-- Like the party hat in the McDonalds drive thru (don't ask...) Or when we called in sick to work to go to the Bengals/Steelers playoff game. She's always been my trusted sounding board, someone who listens without judgement (unless warranted) and cares deeply for the people she loves. While she's far way in Florida now, I always have a place to vacation and visit with her perfect daughter, Ella.

Bree and I met through our sorority in college, and from the very beginning she made life a lot more fun. While some of our best stories are probably better left untold (and for the record, I definitely never drove the getaway car for her....) there has never been a dull moment when Bree is around. She is the life of every party, the person who can make an entire room laugh and someone who can always turn any ordinary day into a memorable one. Beyond all of the fun, she has the most carding heart. I feel so lucky to call her one of my best friends.
